About Us
YFE Theatrical Productions is a not-for-profit, black box, community theater. It began as the theatrical division of Yellow Fun Entertainment in 2015 after Yellow Fun Entertainment had success co-producing multiple shows with another locally run theater company. The division originally was created to produce children's and families shows. Our first show was DRACULA'S IN THE BASEMENT, a Halloween show that was so successful in 2015 that YFE brought it back each Fall from 2016-2018. During this time, the division produced 3 shows a year: An annual Spring show (usually a children's show or one based in classic literature), a Winter Children's Acting Workshop, and an annual Halloween show. In early 2018, it was apparent that this division was strong enough to become its own theater company.
By May of 2018, we officially became an organized non-profit company. Our first two shows under this banner was CINDERELLA: A STORY FROM FAIRYLAND (May 2019) and MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (December 2019). When the pandemic hit in 2020, we were in the middle of producing PETER PAN for the Spring, which ended up as a filmed YouTube short premiering Thanksgiving week, 2020. We, then produced two Covid-conscience shows, THE WIZARD OF OZ and A CHRISTMAS CAROL in 2021 before taking a year off to restructure.
Our restructuring ended up with us deciding to turn all of our Fall shows into annual staged radio plays. Under this new redirection we produced IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: THE STAGED RADIO PLAY in December 2023. Our next staged radio plays will be A CHRISTMAS CAROL (December 2024), THE HIDING PLACE (November 2025), and THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (November 2026).
Our annual Spring shows will remain committed to performing classic works, either from children's classic literature or classic theater. As such, we try to balance our shows for different audiences every couple of years. Under this restructure, we performed PYGMALION in April 2024. Our next efforts in this direction will be THE ODD COUPLE (Spring 2025), OZ (Spring 2026) and BARRIE, PETER, & WENDY (Spring 2027).
Our current performance venues are in Dedham, MA. Rehearsals for all shows take place via Zoom and at the Motherbrook Arts & Community Center in Dedham, MA.

YFE President/Artistic Director
Josef Silvia
Josef Silvia hails from Plymouth, MA. He cut his teeth in theater by apprenticing Priscilla Beach Theatre's School of Theater, learning all he could during the five intense years he worked there before becoming an adjunct faculty member for another five. During his high school, college and grad school years, Josef wrote, directed, and performed in many shows for PBT. However, it was the writing, directing and producing that caught Josef's eye. In 2011, he moved to the Boston area and quickly became involved with multiple theater companies in and around the Boston area. This eventually led to the creation of YFE Theatrical Productions, Inc. While Josef is a career-driven manager in another job field, he loves to travel, read, and is a published author.
